We gather together to listen for God’s word broken open in new ways through scripture and sermon. We sing and pray together with enthusiasm and authenticity. We gather around the altar every Sunday to share bread and wine at the table that was set for us by Jesus, which offers food for our journeys here and a foretaste of the world that is to come.

Our 8 a.m. service uses more traditional language and is a contemplative, spoken service. Our 10 a.m. service combines both traditional and contemporary music and language. We celebrate communion at both services every week.

We believe everyone is made uniquely and beautifully in the image of God and we are blessed by all who gather together on a Sunday. We then are dismissed by our deacon to love and serve God and God’s people in the world.

Other ways to worship at St. John
-Every Wednesday at Noon
-First Sunday Evening Taize Service

Every Wednesday, we gather in the chapel at noon to celebrate a spoken Eucharist. This service often uses liturgy different from the one used on Sundays. We are currently using The Black Rock Prayer Book. The Contemplative Prayer team leads centering prayer before this service at 11:30 in the West Wing conference room.

On the first Sunday of each month, we hold a Labyrinth Walk in the parish hall at 4:30pm followed by a Taize service at 5:30pm. Taize is a peaceful, meditative worship service that includes simple meditative music, periods of silence, readings, and prayer. Unique musicians join us to add support to the chants. We’re currently being joined by the talented baroque musician Anthony Allen.

See the video below for a taste of Taize (note the video references a different time)
